Expositions of Holy Scripture

The sermons of J.C. Philpot have been appreciated by the Lord’s people throughout the English-speaking world and beyond for well over 150 years. This volume collects together for the first time another aspect of Philpot’s ministry – that of his Expositions of Scripture.
Distinct from his sermon, it was Mr. Philpot’s practice, that, having read a passage of Scripture, he would briefly expound it before the prayer and sermon which followed. While briefer than his sermons, these Expositions nonetheless contain a rich treasury of the Gospel for hungry souls. We warmly welcome their re-publication.  They have been edited by Matthew Hyde.
