WYCLIFFE AND HUSS, BROOME, J- John Wycliffe first received the truth in its purity from a university professor who warned his students against free-will and a religion which emphasized externals and ignored the true worship of God. He became the father of the Reformation--the Scriptures being his sole authority. John Huss later learned the truth partly from Wycliffe's writings, holding to the supremacy of Scripture. Both of these Reformers shine as lights in a dark place.
